Well here it is folks, we finally have a website. If anything, I can say that this process really helped us feel our client’s pain. I’m talking about the business owners who just physically don’t have the time to give attention to their own marketing. God knows how stupid I felt when anyone I was talking to about my new business of online-focused marketing asked about our own site and I had to explain that “we’ve just gotten so busy so quickly that we honestly haven’t found time yet”. I guess it wasn’t the worst problem to have but thankfully, we’ve now corrected it.
The other thing I think we realized is how difficult it can be to nail down the big idea and the right messaging when it’s your own business. I feel like I’ve gotten good at looking at another organizations and sorting out exactly what their unique selling feature is (or what it should be) and from there deciding what kind of an image to go with but this was just so much more difficult to do for Stiletto. I can’t count the number of times I’ve uttered the tired phrase “you know, you can’t be all things to all people” but here I was, and I so wanted us to be as many things as we possibly could be to as many lovely, satisfied clients as possible.
After a few deep breaths and taking some time to decide what we were really best at, most interested in, and most needed for in the market, we finally came up with our core competencies and did our best to translate that into some compelling copy. We decided on a theme for the images on our site and we set a deadline for having it live.
This blog is where we’ll share our insight into the world of marketing, social media, and online marketing strategy. We hope you like it and find value here for your business and its online marketing endeavors.
