1. Bring a printed confirmation of your registration
I thought to myself before running out the door should I print out the confirmation? And then thought no, this is a technology conference. I don’t need to print the confirmation. Which leads me into the next thing I learned.
2. Although technology is great, if you depend on it too much it’s probably going to come back and bite you in the ass.
3. Once upon a time Lindsay and I worked at Earls together.
4. Vancouver is an incredibly small city
5. There are 40,000 tweets a minute
6. Facebook has 200,000,000 logins a day
7. Don’t wear heels to a conference because if there aren’t enough seats to sit in during the keynotes, you’re screwed.
8. 10% of people online are on social media sites
9. Startups fail because either you don’t have enough experience or you don’t have enough passion.
10. We need to learn to be human again. Take time to just be, without all the distractions of TV, Smartphones, computers etc. I really suck at this so it might take awhile. – Tod Maffin
11. I love Tod Maffin! He was the best speaker and I will now try to go to all his keynotes.
12. Tell a compelling story about your brand and create a buzz. – Ryan Holmes, from Hootsuite
13. Just because you are a compelling writer doesn’t make you a compelling speaker.
That’s all I learned at F5…What did you learn? What were the highlights for you?

ahahaha!
Brittany – it was great running into you at the conference! Always good to see faces from the past. Did you ever work with Peter Matejuck? he worked at earls too (in abby) and now runs an interactive video company. it’s pretty cool stuff.

Sorry you couldn’t get a seat! We were waaaaay over normal capacity for our morning keynotes….which was a lovely surprise.
I agree Tod Maffin rocked his presentation!! So many people have commented on what an amazing job he did.
Big hugs to Tod from Brittany, Linz, and the rest of the fan club!
Lindsay great to see you too! I never worked with Peter but his website is great! Love it!
Don’t worry about the seat. I am, and always will be, a bit of a princess. If this years attendance is a foreshadowing of things to come, next year all of Vancouver will be there.
Hope to run into you again soon!
